Lauren is the director of Ouachita Career Services.  In this role, she serves as a career coach for students and recent graduates.  She also manages ongoing relationships with outside employers throughout the region.  Throughout the academic year, Lauren plans such events as the Spring Career Fair, the Graduate & Professional School Fair and numerous workshops.  She speaks regularly in classes, focusing on such topics as resume and cover letter development, job search skills, interview skills and the professional use of social media.

Lauren is a  graduate of Louisiana State University (’00), where she received her Bachelors in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.  Prior to taking her current role with Ouachita Career Services, she served as director of Ouachita Alumni for six years.  Lauren was the operations manager for the Shaker Museum at South Union in Bowling Green, Kentucky from 2004-2006.  She also led all public relations efforts for the Atlanta Community Food Bank in Atlanta, Georgia from 2000-2004.

Lauren is married to Kendal Land, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Arkadelphia.  They have three children, Jackson, Carlisle and Evangeline.  She is active in the Arkadelphia community through such activities as Rotary, the Downtown Arkadelphia board of directors and the Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce.  She is currently a member Leadership Arkansas’ Class VII.
