Every Monday and Tuesday afternoon during the school year, OBU students head out to a few Arkadelphia neighborhoods to play games and teach Bible lessons with local kids. Would you consider being a part of our BBC team next year, by committing your time on Monday or Tuesdays from 3:30-5? You can fill out a quick interest form here.
Read about Camp Wamp, a part of the BBC ministry, from one of our leaders, Katherine Melson:
“Camp Wamp 2014 was a memory for the books! The camp provides us with an opportunity to invest in kids in positive way that is pleasing to the Lord. Kyle Lamothe came as our speaker and summed up everything that we have focused on this school year. He spoke in three sessions that served to communicate the Gospel to the kids in a relevant way. Through small groups, the leaders were not only able to teach in a way that made sense to the kids, but develop intentional relationships with the kids so they could see how Christ has had an impact in our own lives. By deepening the relationships of the leaders and kids, the kids will be more likely now to listen to what we have to say about Christ and allow us to more effectively minister to them. In addition to small groups, the kids were able to hear the Gospel and respond, and one of our third grade boys came to know the Lord!
During the weekend, we separated the kids into teams and had several games/competitions to compete in! We had crafts, kickball, penny wars, mega relay, mission impossible, and not to mention the infamous paint war! These games also helped the kids and leaders develop stronger relationships.
The importance of Camp Wamp to the success of this ministry cannot be overstated! The Lord provided for us in so many ways and we were blessed to be able to have another camp through the support of so many students, faculty and campus organizations.”
