Osmon, a musical theatre major from Rogers, Ark., has been a member of Ouachita Singers and Concert Choir and has appeared in Ouachita’s productions of Guys and Dolls and Die Fledermaus as well as the university’s annual One-Act Play Festival. He also earned semifinalist honors in the regional National Association of Teachers of Singing auditions and was a 2014 Tiger Tunes host at Ouachita. He is a student of Dr. Margaret Garrett, assistant professor of music, and Daniel Inouye, assistant professor of theatre arts.
Osmon’s recital will include the following selections: Tom Kitt’s “Hey 3/Perfect for You (Reprise)” from Next to Normal, Act 2 from Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues, Cole Porter’s “Gypsy in Me” from Anything Goes and Stephen Sondheim’s “Being Alive” from Company.
Hailey Weiner, a sophomore musical theatre major from Maumelle, Ark., will assist Osmon in the Next to Normal and Biloxi Blues selections. Stacy Hawking, a junior musical theatre major from Sherwood, Ark., choreographed “Gypsy in Me.” He will be accompanied on the piano by Phyllis Walker, OBU staff accompanist.
Also presenting student recitals on Oct. 24 are: Hannah Bowen, a senior choral music education major from Lewisville, Texas; Chris Hogan, a senior instrumental music education major from Bartlesville, Okla.; and Chelsea Villanueva, a senior instrumental performance major from Bentonville, Ark.
