Overview of the Show
The main goal of “The Tonight Show at Ouachita” is to gather the student body together for entertainment purposes. We want to lay this show out to be one that imitates or mimics that of late night television shows, popular since the inception of television. With the likeness and charm of Johnny Carson, but the relevance and wit of Jimmy Fallon, Coleson and David want to bring an informative, yet lightheartedness to Ouachita through the form of comedy and current events. Not only this, but much more will be unveiled through this overview.
Layout of the Show
Like many late night television shows, “The Tonight Show at Ouachita” will feature humorous bits, monologues, guests. musical guests and more. Below is a description of these segments of the show:
We have accumulated a team of writers that will help us on each of the shows to gather news from current events from the media, as well as events on Ouachita’s Campus. We are sure that you are familiar with such monologues in late night shows past and present. Our writing team includes:
– Wade Stotts
– Tyler Davis
– Tanner Trantham
– Jim Hampton
We want to use this show to showcase their talent on campus in writing and wit, but also offer others the chance to write for the show as it continues on through the semester. We want the show to be open to suggestions from students on campus. These segments will take place at the start of the show and will last anywhere from 5-10 minutes and can contain video as well as live speaking. At this point we will introduce our house band (Stephen Curry) and take a quick break to get set for the next set on the show. Stephen will play us through this time.
