May 3rd – 3:30-6pm – Mountain Biking at Iron Mountain
The Iron Mountain Trails at Lake DeGray are some of the best around. This trip will be for someone comfortable on a bike, but you do not have to be a hardcore cyclist. Rental bikes will be included for free, but the number is limited. Feel free to bring your own bike. We will meet in the SPEC parking lot outside the rental center. Click here to sign up and/or reserve a bike.

We will sell T-shirts before hand with all profit going to the food pantry at the community enrichment center. In addition, we will charge $5 each entry fee to a food eating contest. It will be played 4 people at a time tournament style, and the eventual winner gets $50 and a t shirt.
Keep your calendar open August 2-7 in order to participate in FOOT 2016. This involvement could be for 1 hour, 1 day, or the entire week. Read more below!
Freshman Outdoor Orientation Trip (FOOT) is a pre-college experience that uses God’s creation to draw students closer to God and develop relationships with other students and faculty/staff. The trip prepares them for Ouachita culture and their new responsibilities as adults away from home. Click here to learn more about FOOT.
This year FOOT will take place in the Ouachita Mountains. We will camp on Lake Degray and spend our days climbing, hiking, swimming, canoeing, and serving the community. This is an awesome opportunity to show these new students all that the area has to offer.
The local venue means that you do not have to commit to the entire week to be a part of this experience.
This is a great opportunity for you to get to know some of the incoming Freshmen and for them to see how much OBU faculty/staff cares for them. Below are some examples of how faculty/staff can participate in FOOT:
In the future, I will send out a more detailed list of ways to be involved and how you can sign up. So keep the dates of August 2-7 open and I will contact you with more information.
