Symphonic Band                                                                                              

The Symphonic Band is conducted by Robert Hesse, Associate Director of Bands.  Membership is open to any Ouachita Baptist University student with high school band experience.  The Symphonic Band performs concerts during the spring as well as providing music for University activities such as Spring Commencement. 

The Symphonic Band performs a wide variety of selections each year.  Introducing new literature to future teachers and band audiences is a major project that the Symphonic Band includes each year.  The Symphonic Band rehearses two times per week during the spring semester.  There are auditioned scholarships available for participation in the Symphonic Band.  Members receive one-half hour of academic credit.
