Kristin Grant joined the faculty at Ouachita Baptist University in 2002. She is an active teacher, performer and adjudicator. As Instructor of Music, Ms. Grant teaches Music Theory, Applied Flute lessons, and directs the Ouachita Flute Choir.
Ms. Grant performs often as a soloist and chamber musician, and is a member of the Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been aired on KUAR 91.5 as a Featured Artist for “Classical Arkansas”. She has taught master classes and judged competitions in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, and served as a featured guest artist at the 2004 Oklahoma Music Teacher’s Association Convention. Her professional memberships include the National Flute Society, Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association, Mid-South Flute Society, Texas Flute Society, and the College Music Society.
Ms. Grant received a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from the University of Arizona, and a Master of Music in flute performance from the University of North Texas. Before coming to Ouachita, she served on the music faculty of East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma where she taught flute and music theory. She and her husband live in Arkadelphia with their son, Jacob.
