Athletics is an integral part of the Ouachita campus, as more than 20% of Ouachita’s students compete on one of the university’s 16 intercollegiate sports teams.
Ouachita student-athletes strive for excellence on and off the playing field, court or pool. The Tigers compete in the NCAA Division II Great American Conference, and in the GAC’s inaugural season in 2011-12, Ouachita’s football and men’s tennis teams were named conference champions, with the women’s soccer and baseball teams earning runner-up finishes. The same year, more than 40 Ouachita athletes were named to GAC All-Academic teams and more than 40 earned All-Conference honors for their athletic performances. In only their second season of competition, the Tiger wrestling team competed in the NCAA tournament and finished with three All-America athletes. Ouachita’s cheer squad also has competed nationally in recent years.

OBU Recreational Life offers intramural sports for students at all competitive levels and outdoor recreation activities that take advantage of Arkansas’ outstanding parks and trails.
Campus is less than 15 minutes from world-class outdoor opportunities at Lake DeGray. On campus, Ouachita offers free workout facilities; basketball, tennis and racquetball courts; a swimming pool and a disc golf course. Learn more about these opportunities at OBU RecLife.
Regardless of the sport or activity, there are plenty of opportunities for students to show their Tiger spirit and become part of Tiger Nation!
