OBU BASKETBALL LOSES PAIR ON THE ROAD

ARKADELPHIA - The Tigers of Ouachita Baptist University recently lost to the Aggies of Cameron University 88-79, while the Lady Tigers also fell to the Lady Aggies of Cameron by a score of 69-66 at games played on Saturday, February 26 in Lawton, OK.
The Tigers (7-18, 3-10) fell to as much as a 12 point lead by the hand of the Aggies (6-20, 4-10) and Cameron took a 42-31 lead into the locker room for halftime. The Tigers attempted to surge back but could not overcome the deficit and lost their last regular Lone Star Conference North Division season game to the hometown Aggies.
Junior Mauricio Watson of Panama City, Panama led the Tigers with 19 points on six of 12 form the field and three of six from the three point arc and four of four from the free throw line. Freshman Jarris Kentle of Pine Bluff added 18 points on eight of 14 from the field. Atif Williams, a junior out of Tulsa, OK had 14 for the game on six of 15 from the field.
Marcus Lee led the Aggies with 32 points in 12 of 17 from the field, including seven three pointers. Brandon Kephart added 20 points; Alex Ihler had 13 points; and Micah Boylan put up 11 points for the game.
OBU shot 30 of 74 from the field, including five of 23 from the three point arc and 14 of 17 from the foul line. Cameron made 29 of 65 from the field, including 13 of 30 for three points and 17 of 27 from the charity stripe. Cameron pulled down 50 rebounds to OBUs 36, but the Tigers grabbed eight steals while the Aggies had seven.
Coach Mike Reynolds Tigers finished the year in last place in the LSC North Division, while Cameron was one rung up.
The Lady Tigers (188, 8-6) once again fell to the misfortune of Oklahoma road games, with a 0-6 record in Oklahoma this year. OBU led for the majority of the first half and took a 32-31 lead into the half. The lead changed hands several times during the second half but the Lady Aggies (13-3, 7-7) surged at the end of the game and pulled away for the Lone Star win.
Senior Jeannie Kennedy of Bryant led the Tigers with 19 points on seven of 15 from the field and five of eight from the free throw line while adding 11 rebounds. Senior Jamie Scheppmann of Cove and sophomore Tracy McBryde of Springtown, TX added 11 points, and McBryde led OBU with 12 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers shot 21 of 58 for the game and 23 of 31 from the foul line, while the Lady Aggies shot 24 of 58 from the field, including three of eight from three point territory and 18 of 25 from the charity stripe.
Even though the Lady Tigers lost both games of the week, with the help of other top seeded conference teams losses, coach Garry Crowders squad will advance to the Lone Star Conference Tournament. OBU will host the first round of play with the Lady Tigers facing the Eastern New Mexico University Zias from Portales, New Mexico on Tuesday, February 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena in the Roy and Christine Sturgis Physical Education Center. If the Lady Tigers win the first round game with the Zias, OBU will be on the road for the semi-final and and final rounds on Friday and Saturday.
Ouachita ended the regular season in a three-way tie for second place in the LSC North, along with East Central (OK) University and Northeastern (OK) State University.
