ARKADELPHIA - Ouachita Baptist University Lady Tiger senior guard Jamie Scheppmann of Cove (Van-Cove) is the NCAA Division IIs ninth leading scorer and seventh leading free throw shooter, according to the weekly statistics report from the NCAA office in Indianapolis.
The All-American candidate leads her team and the Lone Star Conference in scoring, while averaging 21.8 points per game. Through 21 games, Scheppmann has scored 29 three-pointers and has scored 144 total field goals. She also has 141 free throws of 162 attempts for an 87 percent average at the line. The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster transfer has scored 458 points in her short one year career at OBU. She is 20th in the steals in the NCAA with 69 take-aways for a 3.3 per game average.
The Lady Tigers, as a team, are sixth in the NCAA and lead the LSC in free-throw shooting, hitting 416 of 554 attempts for 75.1 percent.
This week, the Lady Tigers (16-5,6-3) slipped out of the Top 25 of the USA Today/Womens Basketball Coaches Association national poll following from 24th to 27th. Coach Garry Crowders team is listed in the third spot in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Womens Basketball Poll.
