My name is Stacy Beck, and I am the admissions counselor for the Dallas-Ft. Worth area as well as Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North & South Dakota and Wisconsin. I grew up just an hour from Ouachita in Sheridan, Ark. While I grew up in a small town, I have always had an interest in new places, people and cultures. I studied abroad at the Université d’Orléans in Orléans, France, in fall of 2011. I was heavily involved in Ouachita’s International Club before graduating in May 2013.
Ouachita attracted me with its diversity of students, caring and supportive environment and wealth of opportunities for research and travel. I have always felt the Ouachita difference. My professors were genuine and wanted to direct me in my career path. My fellow students were motivated and cared about each other not only on an academic level but a spiritual level, as well.
I love the smiling faces on campus and this beautiful, natural area of Arkansas. I can go to the lake and swim or relax, climb Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock or walk in historic downtown Hot Springs. I love watching Arkansas transform over all four seasons.
