My name is Brittany Armstrong, and I am the admissions counselor for south Arkansas, Texas (except Dallas/Ft. Worth), Arizona, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming & Utah. I grew up in Monticello, Ark.; graduated from Monticello High in 2006; and graduated from Ouachita in 2010. My parents still reside in Monticello, and my two younger siblings are now both in college.
I have been in Arkadelphia for about six years. The first four years were spent studying here at Ouachita Baptist University. I absolutely fell in love with OBU the minute I stepped foot on this campus. I was surrounded by students and faculty who seemed to take a genuine interest in my well-being. In the classroom, the low student-to-faculty ratio allowed me to engage more with my peers and the professors. I came from a smaller high school, so I knew the smaller classroom sizes would be great for me to make the transition.
The community I found here was like none other I had ever experienced. I was able to make lifelong friends by growing together, worshipping together and studying together. OBU is also where I met my husband, David. I would not change anything about my time at OBU. I truly did “discover the difference!”
David and I have been married for more than a year, and he works as a park interpreter at DeGray Lake Resort State Park, which is only 20 min from campus. I enjoy hanging out at DeGray with David as well as fellowshipping with others, spending time with my family and traveling!
