My name is Alison Johnson. I am the admissions counselor for south Arkansas, Gulf Coast states (AL, FL, LA, MS) and Georgia. I grew up in Shreveport, La., graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 2009 and graduated from Ouachita in 2013 with a degree in music theatre. I’ll always be a Louisiana girl at heart even though I now live in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Both my parents are Ouachita alums as well as other extended family of mine. You might say I bleed purple and gold! Aside from being an admissions counselor, I enjoy spending time with friends, working with kids, reading and going to the movies.
Being a student at Ouachita was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. I participated in Tiger Tunes all four years and was a Tiger Tunes hostess in 2011. I was involved with social clubs, campus ministries and the Miss OBU Pageant. I also had the opportunity to participate in the Pruet School of Christian Studies mission trip to South Africa where we worked with Prevention Time SA to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and share the gospel.
Because of Ouachita, I now have the skills needed to work in areas where I’m most passionate and that is what I hope for all future students.
